So many of my couples struggle with date night. You don’t feel creative and have no idea how to locate resources. Date night is not the end all, be all of relationships, but it is one way to get out of your typical routine and spend some quality time together.
Every Monday I’m going to give you a couple ideas. Most of these ideas will be specific to the St. Croix Valley, because that’s where I practice. Some will be in the Twin Cities if I think the event or idea is especially good.
Date Night Ideas This Week: March 2-8, 2020
Friday, March 6, 2020 Portside Stillwater – Good For Gary – 9pm
Have a 7pm dinner at Marx or Lolo (reservations may be required as these places have really great menus and book up quickly on a Friday night).
Portside is the former Rafters (and former Cherry Bowl) in the upper level in downtown Stillwater. Good For Gary is an awesome pop music cover band that gets you out on the dance floor. Stay up late, grab a cocktail and act like young people on the dance floor!
Saturday, March 7, 2020 The Saint Paul Hotel – Live Jazz with Erin Livingston – 7pm
If you’re looking for a quieter and slightly classier option, head to The Saint Paul Hotel in downtown St. Paul. Valet parking is available or there is ramp parking adjacent to the hotel. The bar area is first come first served if you are hoping to grab a bite or I’d suggest calling ahead for a reservation in the dining room. Jazz is played in the lobby outside of the St. Paul Grille restaurant/bar so plan to arrive early if you want dinner. There is a small lobby bar to get a glass of wine while you listen to Erin’s amazing voice.
